[UPDATED: Puzzle Game Only] Amazon Free App of the Day: Award Winning Puzzle/Adventure Game: The Inner World
One of the many pros of having an Android device is having choices. There are many things you can choose to change on your Android device that you cannot on iOS devices. That is to say, if you don’t jailbreak your device or root it. To that end, Android not only has the Google Play Store, but also the Amazon App Store, for you to download apps/games. Amazon has a free app of the day, and today’s free app is one you should download, if you enjoy puzzle/adventure games. The Inner World is available to download for free for the next twenty-four hours.
Chronology is a puzzle platformer that previously was available on iOS, Windows Phone, and Steam, garnering over a million and half downloads across the board. Within Chronology, players will travel through various points in both the past and future, with stages having (according to the ores release) “hand-drawn steampunk environments”.
NetMarble has announced that they will be releasing a new side-scrolling platformer called Quickboy onto Android next month. This game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world with a steampunk theme to it as you take on the role of Tommy Hawk who needs to find his brother as well as save the world. We’ve contacted Tony Hawk to see if there is any relation between him and Tommy.

Their latest project Fotonica, is now available in the Google Play Store. We have had our eyes on this game for some time, since it was released on iOS last year. If you want to bypass the review, here’s the short version, hit the download button!

Game developer Gamesoft PTY, LTD, which is based in Sydney, and not to be confused with Gameloft, which is based in Paris, France, has a new game coming to PC, consoles, and mobile devices later this year. Working with publisher Appsquare, which is also based in Sydney, Gamesoft is developing a game that is set in a Steampunk-inspired world. Clockwork will challenge your mind and game-playing skills. It has an intriguing story, puzzles, and platforming.
Limbo is a 2D side-scrolling game released by Playdead. The premise of the game is simple, bordering on basic: players assume the role of an unnamed boy searching for his sister who’s apparently lost in Limbo. While this is fine enough of a reason (excuse?) to go off on a grand adventure, it isn’t mentioned in the game at ALL, but rather pulled from the game’s Google Play page. And to clarify this point, there was no prologue, cut scenes, epilogue, narration, subtitles, or any thing else that would advance a narrative. No story, but for the byline found on Google Play. The thing is though, this game is so good that I didn’t care. Also, not only is this the closest thing I have to a complaint, it’s my sole one at that.
Based in San Mateo, California, Super Evil Megacorp created a stir last year with the showing of their action-filled MOBA, Vainglory. Their game was chosen to show-off the high-quality graphics that the latest Apple devices could achieve. Fast-forward a few months later, and we now learn that Vainglory will be coming to Android devices too.
Ketchapp Games is on a roll when it comes to finding quick and fun to play one-touch-button games. You don’t have to look very far to find one in the top twenty-five in the Play Store. Games like The Tower, ZigZag, Skyward and Run Bird Run, are just a few of the enjoyable one-tap challenging games, that they have helped bring to Android mobile devices.
