Super Heavy Sword Review: In short, don’t bother, at least not right now.

This is the type of review that I’m not happy to write. Super Heavy Sword is an extremely disappointing game, yet seems to have so much potential. For all I know, it very well could be living up to it, but the game has a bug that precludes me from getting far enough into the game, to really get a feel for what it could be; this is to say nothing of other critiques that I will offer as well. So here is my review, for what I could play.

[UPDATE: Kickstarter Campaign is Live] Upcoming action platformer Trial By Viking finally has a release time frame and a new trailer

Back during GDC 2015 we went hands-on with a really cool 3D side-scrolling action platformer called Trial By Viking that is planned for release onto numerous platforms including Android. We actually played this game at that time with an old school Nintendo controller. Back when we originally reported on this game, we didn’t have any sort of definitive release time frame or date as to when this game would land on Android, only that it would be coming soon. Today we get to change that as well as show the new trailer for Trial By Viking.

As it turns out, indie dev Edmund McMillen took a break from development after working on his PC game Fingered. Now he’s back in action and focused on finishing Super Meat Boy Forever, the mobile spin-off of Super Meat Boy.

In fact we reported on this game coming to Android back in April of this year. So it has been a few months since we’ve heard anything about when this game will be released. Now we have a release date finally thanks to a post on Vine from the developers.

[Game Review] Sometimes You Die: A Stark but Brilliant Platforming Game

Philipp Stollenmayer has created a wonderful and brilliant platforming game called Sometimes You Die. The main protagonist in the game is a square, that navigates its way through varying puzzles and sparsely colored environments. It is not a long game, but the fun you have in the game makes it well-worth downloading. Here’s the kicker, sometimes you will have to die to get to the next level.
