Some interesting news today in the world of game developers, clones, and legal matters. Stolen Couch Games released a puzzle game back in December 2012 called Ichi which has actually done pretty well for itself. The game was made in partnership between Stolen Couch Games and Jay van Hutten, of which the founding members of Stolen Couch Games and Van Hutten were attending the Utrecht School of the Arts together. This is where the eventual creation of Ichi happened.

Fans of Cryptography-style puzzle games have a new one to test their brain power in called Next Quote by Vito Technology. This particular Cryptography game uses the Substitution Cipher, which is one of the oldest and most basic methods of encoding a secret message, that doesn’t mean that this game is easy.
While fans of Noodlecake Games releases are patiently waiting for the company’s next release this week, Noodlecake has begun teasing another one of their games called Brickies. So what is this game all about? Think of the classic game Breakout, but with a twist to it, and faces on the blocks you are breaking.

Game developer Gamesoft PTY, LTD, which is based in Sydney, and not to be confused with Gameloft, which is based in Paris, France, has a new game coming to PC, consoles, and mobile devices later this year. Working with publisher Appsquare, which is also based in Sydney, Gamesoft is developing a game that is set in a Steampunk-inspired world. Clockwork will challenge your mind and game-playing skills. It has an intriguing story, puzzles, and platforming.
Rovio is keeping the Angry Birds train rolling forward with a new release today called Angry Birds Stella POP!. Based off of the morally conscience Angry Birds Stella game, this is a match-3 puzzle spin-off that deals with saving exotic critters. Of course taking out the evil pigs is still a part of the game as well. Mind you it is a bit ironic to save exotic creatures while getting rid of pigs which is also a creature of the world last time I checked.
Limbo is a 2D side-scrolling game released by Playdead. The premise of the game is simple, bordering on basic: players assume the role of an unnamed boy searching for his sister who’s apparently lost in Limbo. While this is fine enough of a reason (excuse?) to go off on a grand adventure, it isn’t mentioned in the game at ALL, but rather pulled from the game’s Google Play page. And to clarify this point, there was no prologue, cut scenes, epilogue, narration, subtitles, or any thing else that would advance a narrative. No story, but for the byline found on Google Play. The thing is though, this game is so good that I didn’t care. Also, not only is this the closest thing I have to a complaint, it’s my sole one at that.
GDc is a great event to sit down with developers of all sizes to talk about current and future titles heading to our world of mobile gaming on Android. Five Night’s At Freddy’s 3 Review: Scott Cawthon’s latest horror game is simultaneously his most ambitious and frustrating yet
If you’ve been living under a rock for the past year you probably haven’t heard of the mega hit Five Night’s At Freddy’s. Designed and created entirely by one man, this series explores the horrors of being a security guard in a Chuck’E’Cheese style restaurant while animatronic animals hunt you down. The first two games had similar gameplay mechanics that revolved around monitoring security camera’s while you waited for an impending jump scare. The third one is a different beast entirely.
