Back in December of last year we were following the Kickstarter campaign for Pier Solar HD, a remake of the massive retro style RPG game for Sega Mega Drive / Genesis that was released in 2010 and soon to be coming to the Dreamcast as well. Their Kickstarter campaign was so successful that Android and Ouya versions were confirmed to be in the works as well.

One game we’ve talked about heading our way in the near future is Nimblebit’s next release called Pocket Trains. Slated for release yesterday it did in fact arrive right on time so now you can dive into the pixel filled world of trains, pixel people and managing all of it.
Last week Square Enix tweeted that the next installment into their Final Fantasy franchise on mobile would finally be arriving onto Android on September 26th, 2013, which is today. Sure enough the company has indeed released the game onto Google Play for Android gamers to finally sink their teeth into.
Last week we predicted that the next Android focused Humble Bundle would be arriving this week. Well it looks like our ‘prediction’ was right on time as it has now launched with two games making their Android debuts – Star Command and Time Surfer.
If you happen to be a fan of DotEmu, own an Ouya game console, and the retro games they have been bringing over to Android devices over the past couple of years then there is some good news for you today. The company today has announced that Another World: 20th Anniversary Edition has been released onto Ouya and is now available for download.
A new retro style platform has arrived onto Google Play called Brave Bit. This challenging little platformer features the dual-tone visuals we are used to seeing in minimalistic style games like this with the dark (black) foreground with the single color background. When we say this is a challenging platformer, we mean it is rather challenging, like up there with Super Meat Boy challenging.
NimbleBit has officially announced when their next game called Pocket Trains will be released onto iOS and Android devices. We’ve talked about this game a couple of times in the past already and while we didn’t know 100% whether or not Pocket Trains would actually be released onto Android, since there has been no official word up until now regarding an Android version. we do now know that it will be on Android and we now have an official release date.
When we first talked about Square Enix’s All The Bravest game we were not sure that it would be arriving for Android users in the West as it was only available in Japan at that time. This game has finally been released worldwide as of a few days ago and has had the Final Fantasy name tacked onto it as well. Originally it was just called All The Bravest.
One game we have been following throughout its development is OrangePixel’s new game called Heroes of Loot. This new game was inspired by the arcade classic Gauntlet although there are some slightly different game mechanics with Heroes of Loot. In the end though it is all about getting that loot and being a powerful badass.
Today is already shaping up to be a pretty good Thursday in terms of game releases for Android. We already have King of Fighters-A 2012 arriving onto Google Play and we now also have 505 Games publishing the rather popular sandbox game Terraria onto Android as well. Technically it actually was released yesterday but that’s alright, we’ll include it in today’s releases instead.
