Yesterday we reported on Mojang who did a live stream Q&A session on Twitch about Minecraft: Pocket Edition and Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition. Another interesting announcement coming from the Oculus Connect Day 2 keynote presentation is that the Samsung Gear VR headset will be getting a bunch of classic games brought over to it. This is all thanks to the inclusion of the Oculus Arcade, which will be available for the Gear VR headset.
During today’s keynote at the Oculus Connect event, Samsung announced a new headset that will be an improvement over the current one, and that it will cost a mere $99 as well. How exactly it will be better wasn’t really expanded upon too much, but it will work with more phones.
HandMade Game are the developers behind the popular Rooms franchise, originally released onto the Nintendo DS before making its way onto Android, iOS, and PC via Steam but under a different name. Now the company is making a virtual reality version of the sequel.
ustwo, developers of the overly popular Monument Valley game, have announced that their next title will be arriving at the end of next month. Their next game, which is the Virtual Reality game Land’s End, will initially be released exclusively on the Samsung Gear VR headset.
Coatsink Software has announced a new virtual reality game that they are currently working on that will feature stars like Nick Frost, Sean Pertwee, and Lara Pulver. All three, and possibly more, will be lending their voices for the main characters within the game. Cloudhead Games reveals their Blink Locomotion Technology for VR to prevent gamers getting sick
Back in March 2015 we reported on a VR game heading to the HTC Vive called The Gallery: Six Elements. This game is currently being developed by Cloudhead Games who today announced that their new Blink Locomotion Technology will be debuting in another virtual reality game in The Gallery franchise once it is released.
It seems like celebrities are still making their way into games these days with the recent announcement of Nicki Minaj and Jason Statham to get their own games from Glu mobile. However the latest announcement is for Keanu Reeves and his rather popular movie John Wick which will be getting its own virtual reality game early next year. A teaser version of the John Wick game will be available much sooner though, coming out when the HTC Vive launches.
Handy Games has quietly released a game for Google Cardboard called Hidden Temple – VR Adventure, which is sort of a suitable name considering how quiet of a release this was. The goal of this game is to escape from a temple before you die in it, preferably with some treasure as well.
