In other interesting business news, a new report by the IDC has Google Play moving into second place when it comes to mobile gamers and where they spend their money. This move into second place means that mobile gamers now spend more on Google Play then they do on traditional handheld gaming consoles like the PS Vita and the 3DS.

While Google’s Chromecast has only been available since the company announced it last week, someone has already hacked the streaming device and stuffed a GameBoy emulator into it. Most people won’t be surprised at the fact that the Chromecast got hacked an something like this was stuck onto it but how games are loaded up and played is actually pretty interesting.
Google loves to add Easter Eggs to pretty much everything they release and so far it looks like every single one of them has been found… at least to everyone’s knowledge that is. Well Google’s newest application is no exception to the rule which means the Google Play Games app that arrived yesterday has an Easter Egg that has been discovered.
While Google’s press event had the new Nexus 7 tablets as the headliner for the event, that wasn’t the only news to come out of the press breakfast. Aside from the official announcement of Android 4.3, Google also officially announced that a Google Play Games application would be launching today. This is something that a lot of people were hoping would actually see the light of day.
As pretty much the entire Android community knows, this morning is Google’s breakfast press event where pretty much everyone knew Google was going to officially announce the new Nexus 7 Android tablet along with the new 4.3 version of Android. If you follow Android hardware news on a regular basis then you’ve probably seen the plethora of leaked renders, specs and other details about an apparent new Nexus 7 tablet from Asus getting released soon. Many outlets have the official unveiling of this new tablet dated a few days from now when Google is planning to host a press event.

While this will be similar to the original Nexus Q from last year, this particular new model will have more of a ‘gaming focus’ to it.
While we unfortunately do not have a Google Glass unit ourselves, the folks at Mashable do happen to have one and also happened to be in attendance at E3 2013. So while wandering the show floor during the event, they decided to record a tour of everything through Google Glass.
Vector Unit has decided to release a video showing off Riptide GP 2 and the game’s multiplayer features. This game will be using Google Play Games services so players can log into their Google account and race against people in their circles. Another interesting point about this video are the devices they are using to show multiplayer.
As with most Google I/O events that have happened so far, we get a lot of goodies announced for us to enjoy but there is always at least one service that gets an announcement that it will be shutting down and this year it will be Google+ Games. The service wasn’t exactly the most popular one Google has launched in the past but with the birth of Google Play Games, there really isn’t much of a need for Google+ Games at all.
