Pier Solar HD’s Kickstarter very successful, Android and OUYA versions in the works

Pier Solar HD is a massive retro-style 16-bit RPG that is actually a revamped version of the original Pier Solar RPG from back in the day. The developers recently took to Kickstarter to fund this new remake for a few platforms, those being Xbox 360, PC, Mac, Linux and the Dreamcast. However, in their stretch goals, the developers had Android and OUYA set at the $175,000 mark. Well their Kickstarter closed at just over $231K meaning both the Android and OUYA versions will be made.

Alpha Colony’s Kickstarter misses its goal by a mere $28, Kickstarter won’t bend the rules

Over the weekend a Kickstarter campaign for a game called Alpha Colony ended and unfortunately for the developers they have missed their goal by a mere $28 dollars. This means that they will get absolutely nothing in terms of funding due to Kickstarter’s policy that, in order to actually get all the funds, you have to reach your goal. In this case the goal was $50,000.

A massive retro-style 16-bit RPG called Pier Solar HD is up on Kickstarter looking for funding to finish the game. Originally designed for the Sega Mega Drive and Genesis as Pier Solar, this new HD version is slated for release on the Xbox 360, PC, Mac, Linux and the Dreamcast. Yes, that is correct, the Dreamcast. So why are we reporting on this? Because the Kickstarter project, which is fully funded, is less than $25,000 away from reaching its stretch goal which would bring Pier Solar HD to Android and OUYA with 5 days left to go.

The developer of the rather popular Hard Line game for iOS and Android has hit up Kickstarter to help fund the final development of his next game called Fist Of Awesome. This epic sounding game is a retro style side-scrolling beat ’em up where you will be punching various woodland animals in the face. It’s alright to do that though since they are trying to do the same thing to you as well.

A sequel to the classic space trading sim Elite could make its way to mobile devices

Frontier Developments have started up a Kickstarter campaign to help getting a sequel to their rather popular classic space trading sim game called Elite which was originally released back in 1984. At the time Elite featured a revolutionary blend of 3D wire frame graphics and vast procedurally generated galaxies that had not really been accomplished before. Now they are looking to bring a sequel, called Elite: Dangerous, to PCs and David Braben of Frontier Developments has come out to say that they may bring the sequel to mobile devices should they hit/surpass their goal for their Kickstarter campaign.
