Old school arcade shooter fans who also happen to own an Ouya have a new game they can try out today called Teslapunk. Developed by klutzGames, this new arcade top-down shooter has some rather highly detailed retro visuals and a pretty solid soundtrack to go with it. If the game sounds familiar, it should. Teslapunk has been out on Android over on Google Play for a little while now.

Punch hostile animals in the face with Fist of Awesome, now available for Android, Ouya and GameStick
Back in November of last year we reported on the Kickstater for a game called Fist of Awesome hit up Kickstarter for funding which it eventually got successfully. Since then we’ve watched this game get developed and now it is finally time to enjoy punching random hostile animals in the face as Fist of Awesome is now available on Google Play as well as for Ouya and GameStick.
Back in June of this year we mentioned that a rather good looking tactical MOBA game called Arena of Heroes would be making its way to a variety of platforms including Android and Ouya. We the Ouya version of the game is now live and available for download for anyone who owns one of the Android-powered game consoles. To celebrate the launch of the game on Ouya, the developers are also giving away an Ouya as well as a bunch of secondary prizes as well.
One of the biggest issues with the Ouya game console is the fact people have no real way to have external storage usage. So once your internal storage is filled up, you’re kind of left in the dark as to what to do. It’s a problem Ouya is well aware of and have been working on it for a bit now. The good news is it looks like a solution is coming closer to happening.
Back in December of last year we were following the Kickstarter campaign for Pier Solar HD, a remake of the massive retro style RPG game for Sega Mega Drive / Genesis that was released in 2010 and soon to be coming to the Dreamcast as well. Their Kickstarter campaign was so successful that Android and Ouya versions were confirmed to be in the works as well.
Ouya firmware update has arrived. Brings better game discovery and plenty of fixes to the console, external storage support coming soon
Ouya has pumped out a new firmware update that addresses a few issues that had come up regarding a few different problems that would cause the system to crash. While this was one main focus for the update another was just improving the overall discoverability of games on the Android-powered game console.
If you happen to be a fan of DotEmu, own an Ouya game console, and the retro games they have been bringing over to Android devices over the past couple of years then there is some good news for you today. The company today has announced that Another World: 20th Anniversary Edition has been released onto Ouya and is now available for download.
Two games have already had their issues with Ouya’s Free The Games funding campaign with one being pulled from Kickstarter while the other, which ended up successfully funded, was almost pulled as well. Ouya’s Free The Games program will match developers who have a successful Kickstarter campaign for $50,000 or more as their initial goal. Ouya will then turn around and match whatever their goal was as long as the game developers also agree to a six month exclusivity period for their funded game.
One game we have been following throughout its development is OrangePixel’s new game called Heroes of Loot. This new game was inspired by the arcade classic Gauntlet although there are some slightly different game mechanics with Heroes of Loot. In the end though it is all about getting that loot and being a powerful badass.
So if you’ve been following the news lately then you already have an idea about what is going on regarding Ouya’s Free The Games fund in conjunction with Kickstarter. For those of you not familiar with any of this, basically if a developer Kickstarts a game for Ouya and is successful with the funding, Ouya will match the developer’s goal amount. The only two requirements are that the game in question will be exclusive to Ouya for a set period of time and that the funding goal be at least $50,000.
