Yes, there are plenty of controllers out there heading our way over the next few weeks, all of which are designed with serious gaming in mind. Well after the long wait the iCade 8-bitty controller is finally available for purchase.

The MOGA mobile gaming controller gets some big retail backing, pre-orders now open

There are a couple of new mobile gaming controllers gearing up to hit store shelves real soon that we are eager to get our grubby little hands on to try out and play games with. There is the SteelSeries Free wireless game controller, previously known as the SteelSeries ION, which is now available as of October 2nd, 2012 and then there is the rather interesting MOGA controller. Slated to ht store shelves this month, PowerA have announced today that the MOGA controller has some serious retail backing and will be available in some rather big name stores.

The tiny iMpulse Game Controller keyring hits Kickstarter for funding

As with all things technology based, we tend to see sizes get smaller and smaller as technology advances. This holds true for cellphones that, at one point, were bigger than a brick but are now nice little smartphones that fit in our pocket. Even the upcoming Android powered OUYA game console is the size of a Rubik’s Cube. Now game controllers are going that way as well, at least when it comes to mobile gaming. Let’s meet the iMpulse Controller, a game controller that is the size of a keyring.

SteelSeries Free Wireless Controller goes on sale October 2nd

Way back in the beginning of this year during CES 2012 we reported on SteelSeries who were planning on getting into the mobile gaming market with a new game controller called the ION. After we reported on this new portable controller, that can easily fit in your pocket, everything went quiet about when it would start hitting store shelves. Now, we can finally give you an update and the controller’s new name, the SteelSeries Free Wireless Controller.

The iControlPad 2 jumps on Kickstarter to get funding with a much better design

You may or may not remember the original iControlPad game controller which, originally, was designed for iOS devices before branching out and becoming available to Android devices as well. While the idea was great, there was a bit of an issue in terms of design since it used clasps to help attach itself to whatever phone you are using. Considering the huge range of device sizes Android has, you can see how this could be a problem. Well the iControlPad 2 looks to fix this by being completely bluetooth enabled minus the clasps.

As an Ultra Gamer your title isn’t complete without plastic peripherals. Unfortunately, game peripherals for mobile devices can be a bit lacking (with the exception of Nokia’s upcoming 9mm pocket friendly, n9xxx).

iControlPad to support Android in the future

Android gamers have a few options when it comes to controller peripherals which include the Game Gripper, Wiimote support app so you can use your Wiimote with your phone to play games and eventually Zeemote will support Android in the future (it got delayed for some reason so it doesn’t support Android right now). Soon we will also have the iControlPad.
