There is definitely a trend going on right now with resurrecting the classics from back in the day that a lot of us used to play. This trend doesn’t really seem to be slowing down, keeping a consistent pace with new titles being brought to modern times. The latest title looking to make a comeback is Wings, a classic game for the Amiga and yes, there is a Kickstarter for it.
Kairosoft fans can say goodbye to any free time you thought you had over the next couple of days as Kairosoft has just released a new game onto Google Play called Kairobotica. This isn’t their standard sim game either and, on top of that, it is starring the Kairosoft mascot.
AMA, along with BulkyPix, are throwing a Summer Sale right now on Google Play with two of their games. Both Pix N’ Love Rush and My Brute are on sale but in different ways. Pix N’ Love Rush is on sale for 50% off which means you can pick up a copy of this cool retro style game for $0.99.
Kemco, who generally doesn’t release anything but big retro-style RPG titles, has just launched another one onto Android called DarkGate. This particular game is a whole new story and isn’t a follow-up to previously released games like Symphony of Eternity.
We have reported in the past about Square Enix and their slate of upcoming games for Android. There are a wide variety of games heading our way and we even got a treat with Final Fantasy III being released. Square Enix must have decided to reward us for our patience as they have just quietly released Final Fantasy onto Google Play.
We have another treat for everyone today and this time it comes from SNK Playmore in the form of another classic NeoGeo game called Blazing Star. This particular game is a straight up space themed shooter, similar to R-Type in that it is a side-scrolling shooter.
Let’s admit it, most of us have probably had one of these at one point or another. In fact it doesn’t matter if we were kids or have already gone through adolescence, getting to care and caress one of those small virtual pets that some of us know as Tamagotchis was just awesome. Well, it’s time to take back those memories now that Portable Pixels Limited released Hatchi, their first game, and it really needs you to take care of your newly acquired pet.
Last week we told you about a great retro style sports game themed around the Olympics appropriately called Retro Olympics. Well unfortunately for Brave Games Studio, Google seemed fit to pull the game off of Google Play due to an industrial property infringement since ‘Olympics’ is a registered brand. The good news is that it was due to only the name of the game and as such the game is now back on the Google Play store as Retro Athletics.
I’m probably going to date myself with this post but hey, I’m not that old. However, I’ve dropped my fair share of quarters in the arcades and owned pretty much every major console that has been released. So when Brave Game Studios dropped us a note about their new game Retro Olympics, I instantly had flashbacks of the old school sports games I so greatly sucked at playing.
Back in the NeoGeo era one of the more popular series of action games happens to be Metal Slug, a 2D run-a-shoot-everything-in-sight type of game. Well SNK Playmore has decided to release Metal Slug 3 onto Android today which is a mobile version of the game so that you can get some retro shooting fun happening.
