Sony has decided to follow in Nintendo’s footsteps by announcing today that the company is planning to bring 10 Playstation games to Android and iOS devices. It’s a bit odd to say that Sony is following Nintendo as this isn’t Sony’s first time in the smartphone gaming scene at all. The company had the Xperia Play Android gaming phone, and also had the Playstation Mobile store where Android users could purchase games for Xperia devices, some of which were Playstation titles.
[UPDATE: Game Released] Activision and Sony announces a new Ghostbusters game heading to Android this Summer called Ghostbusters: Slime City
Announced jointly by both Activision and Sony, Android gamers will now have a new Ghostbusters game to enjoy soon. Dubbed Ghostbusters: Slime City, this game will focus on events that are to take place after what’s to be shown in the upcoming movie. As the premise goes, players will be assuming the role of a squad of rookies, who have been charged with watching over station while their more famous counterparts are doing more high profile work around the country.

Electronics giant Sony has just announced that they will again take a run at releasing mobile games, specifically for Android and iOS. This is their latest attempt, after several previous debacles. Sony’s newest plan is to create a new unit called ForwardWorks, and launch it on April 1st (ironically on April Fool’s Day?).
Sony’s press conference this year at CES 2016 is probably going to focus a lot on the company’s upcoming Virtual Reality headset, the Playstation VR. As for mobile related goodness, there is a possibility we could see a new Android device announced. I’m personally going to say that instead of a new Android device, we will probably hear more about additional second screen technology being developed for Sony’s Android devices.
If you follow gaming news decently close, then you’ve probably caught wind at least once about the Nintendo Playstation, the bastard child of Sony and Nintendo that almost was. However, due to certain events, it never came to be and the two companies who had a loving relationship ended instead.
Sony’s Remote Play application for the Playstaton 4 is officially only available for Xperia devices of course, and if you want it on your non-Xperia device then you will need to root your phone or tablet. Well, that used to be the case. Now there is a way to use the Playstation 4 Remote Play app on your Android device without having to root it.
Back in March of this year we reported on Sony announcing that their Playstation Mobile services would be closing their doors forever in July. Well it is now July and tomorrow marks the day where you won’t be able to buy any more games off of Playstatioin Mobile. Then in September 2015, in-app purchases and the ability to re-download purchased games will also cease, officially closing Playstation Mobile for good.
Bandai Namco has announced that they have partnered up with Sony Entertainment to produce a mobile game based off of the Pixel movie. For those of you not familiar with what Pixel is, essentially this is a live-action movie with a video game theme to it. Basically aliens misinterpret old video feeds showing video game footage as a declaration of war and attack Earth, taking the form of video game characters when they attack.
