This game was originally announced near the end of last year and has since been in development. More recently, Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius was shown off during the Tokyo Game Show this year.

The world of Square Enix and Final Fantasy games can be a bit confusing, especially with all of the name changes, the occasional game cancellation, and whether or not a game will even make it to the West anyways. Last week we reported on Final Fantasy Agito being officially cancelled, with another game set to take its place instead as a sort of ‘reborn’ version. At least that’s what the information was at the time. Today Square Enix has announced Final Fantasy Type-0 Online, which will be the game replacing Final Fantasy Agito. It may also actually be getting a Western release too.
Square Enix had a pretty strong showing this year at the Tokyo Game Show, with plenty of mobile goodness to be found. Well, at least the company talked about a lot of mobile goodness. As for anything playable, there wasn’t a whole lot there that isn’t already available to play. However, the company did have a new Final Fantasy game being talked about and shown off.

Last year Square Enix announced Final Fantasy Agito, which was only released in Japan before a Western release was announced during E3 2014. Since then nothing has been announced as to when the game would be arriving in the West. We now know why the radio silence was happening, because Square Enix is cancelling Final Fantasy Agito. Have no fear though, it will be ‘reborn’ as something else instead.
Last week we reported that Square Enix would be revealing more details about their upcoming Final Fantasy Adventures game for mobile devices. Well that day is today and while the company didn’t reveal too much in the way of new information, they did announce one interesting item – this game is actually a remake of the first game in the Mana series (Sword of Mana).
Square Enix is gearing up to release a new Dragon Quest game this week, that being Dragon Quest VII. However, Square Enix has announced this particular release for Japan, not mentioning anything about a Western release happening this week. That doesn’t mean it won’t be coming to the West though as so far most Dragon Quest mobile releases are available here as well.
Back in June of this year we reported on a new Final Fantasy game currently being developed called Final Fantasy Adventures. Unfortunately there is a good chance that the Western market won’t see this game, but you never know. It hasn’t been confirmed yet that it won’t be released in the West either.
