Square Enix has put up a teaser site for an upcoming RPG title that could be arriving on Android on January 17th which is this Thursday. It could also be for an iOS game release, or both, but we really don’t know. It could be for one of the Final Fantasy games Square Enix recently teased would be heading our way soon or it could be something completely different.

While HyperDevBox has released their sequel to their rather cool mech-themed shooter ExZeus, the company has also gone ahead and put up all three of their tactics-style RPGs on sale for 50% off for a limited time. According to HyperDevBox, they couldn’t run a sale for Christmas so to make up for it they have decided to run this “Happy 2013! New Years Eve” sale instead.
Back in November of this year we mentioned that GREE was partnering up with various companies to bring a rather interesting selection of titles to Android. While these releases would be Japan-only at first, chances are they will be coming to the rest of the world soon as seen with previous games released onto Android. One of these titles is now here, or in Japan rather, and it is Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops.
Square Enix seems to on a roll this week, first with their rather big sale for the holidays that is currently going on right now, then releasing a trailer to tease us about Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V and future games. Now we have a double release from Square Enix with Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy Dimensions both hitting Google Play this morning.
Square Enix hasn’t really done anything sale-wise since they started releasing games onto Android but that appears to have changed as a bunch of their games are now on sale for the holidays. This isn’t just a dollar or two off of their game’s regular pricing either but a heavy discount on most of their titles.
A new turn-based multiplayer combat game, similar in style to games like Worms, will be making its way to Android in early 2013. Officially named TurtleStrike, this game has players create three different formations using a total of 10 turtles each. From there players will then use their turns by doing one of the three actions each turtle can do: Move, Shoot a Missile or Shoot a Torpedo. You also have special moves like Shield and “Use Secret Special Weapon”.
Last week we talked about a new sequel that Kemco was planning to release soon on Android called Alphadia II. Taking place over 200 years after the first game, Alphadia II will have you hunting down evil that is once again threatening the peace and safety of your world. Energi has once again made an appearance in the world after being gone for 200 years and everyone, good and evil, happen to be scrambling for control over it.
Over the weekend a Kickstarter campaign for a game called Alpha Colony ended and unfortunately for the developers they have missed their goal by a mere $28 dollars. This means that they will get absolutely nothing in terms of funding due to Kickstarter’s policy that, in order to actually get all the funds, you have to reach your goal. In this case the goal was $50,000.
Kemco happens to be one of the main publishers of retro-style RPGs and JRPGs on Android and today they have announced that a sequel to their Alphadia RPG is on the way, slated for release on December 3rd, 2012 onto Google Play. Officially called Alphadia II, this sequel takes place two centuries after the original game happens and, as you might be guessing, a new evil has arisen.
About a week ago we did a bit of an in-depth preview for Spicy Horse’s newest game called Crazy Fairies. This new game is a turn-based shooter that take influences from the Worms series where two or more players go head-to-head and battle it out until one person or team dies. Well for those of you who have been interested in this game since we talked about it last week, you can now grab it off of the Google Play store.
