One of the most famous horror movie characters recently made his way to Mortal Kombat X for PC and console, but unfortunately not for mobile. That, however, has changed today and right in time for Halloween no less. Jason Voorhees is now available as a playable character in the mobile version of Mortal Kombat X.

The mobile version of Mortal Kombat X has received an update almost coinciding with the release of the new Predator (and others) character for the PC version. However, the update to the mobile version doesn’t have Predator in it, but it does have some new character variants available to collect.
Mortal Kombat X has finally been out for a bit now, but since the game’s release one feature hasn’t been available for anyone to play. That feature is the Thunder God Raiden Challenge, which up until this update was a lonely, darkened, unusable button on your screen. Now it is more than a nice looking image on your screen.
One of the most anticipated games this year for mobile, and mainly all video game platforms, was Mortal Kombat X. While the game was supposed to be released around the same time as the iOS version, the Android version ended up being weeks late over every other platform the game was released on. We may never know the real reason this happened but now that the game has been out for roughly a week or so globally, everyone has had a chance to play it. What could have ended up as a barrier breaking fantastic game actually ended up being a decent game when you need to kill some time.
[UPDATE: Game Released] Mortal Kombat is coming to mobile with Mortal Kombat X, a free-to-play fighting/card-battler hybrid
The Mortal Kombat franchise is finally getting a mobile game and honestly it is about damn time too. Warner Bros has officially unveiled a Mortal Kombat game for mobile devices called Mortal Kombat X and while it may not be 100% what we would hope would come in a Mortal Kombat game for mobile devices, it isn’t completely not want we want either.
Do you still plan to download Mortal Kombat X when it actually gets released globally on Android?
Mortal Kombat X was supposed to be a massive release for all platforms in the gaming industry, and it has been for almost all of them. It’s April 30th and Android is still without Mortal Kombat X on a global scale. So far it appears that the Philippines is the only region who can access this game right now, and there is no real word as to when the rest of the Android world will be able to get their hands on it. With the sheer amount of comments on our YouTube channel and here on the site regarding Mortal Kombat X, we figured it would be interesting to see who actually still plans to download this game when it does become available, and who does not plan to get it.
It looks as though NetherRealms and Warner Bros are finally going to be getting around to releasing Mortal Kombat X onto Android. Originally this game was supposed to release at the same time the iOS version launched, which was around two or so weeks ago. For whatever reason though it was delayed. It looks as though the wait is nearing an end.
There is plenty of coverage available when it comes to the non-mobile version of Mortal Kombat X and its immanent release this month. However there isn’t a whole lot of coverage when it comes to the mobile version. There’s plenty of character previews, new character announcements, and so on for the non-mobile version and yet all of that coverage doesn’t mention as to whether or not the mobile version will be getting any of those DLCs.
One of the games we were very eager to try out during GDC 2015 was NetherRealms’ Mortal Kombat X for Android devices. When we got to where the game was being shown, it was in a nice dark conference room behind closed doors with both the console version as well as the mobile version being available to play. Without wasting any time we went over to the table where all the tablets were, sat down, and began playing Mortal Kombat X while talking to one of the developers working on the project.
Thursday are pretty much the official Android mobile game release day. Actually it is like that for all mobile gaming but then again we only care about Android. We don’t usually do a post a day ahead of what’s being released tomorrow but considering how big tomorrow is shaping up to be, it actually warrants a post like this. There is a lot to be looking forward to this Thursday.
