Spirits Review: A late-night, tucked-in-bed puzzle game

Spirits, a charming physics-based puzzler by Spaces of Play, is a simple game that sucks you in almost immediately but eventually leaves a lot to be desired. Your job is pretty simple: guide the leaf spirits through different levels, dodging pitfalls, blocks and spikes until they finally arrive at a spiraling portal to be whisked away. It’s a pretty easy game and each level is relatively non-challenging. That is until you decide you want to conquer each level and come out with perfect results… that’s when the game becomes really challenging.

The iControlPad 2 jumps on Kickstarter to get funding with a much better design

You may or may not remember the original iControlPad game controller which, originally, was designed for iOS devices before branching out and becoming available to Android devices as well. While the idea was great, there was a bit of an issue in terms of design since it used clasps to help attach itself to whatever phone you are using. Considering the huge range of device sizes Android has, you can see how this could be a problem. Well the iControlPad 2 looks to fix this by being completely bluetooth enabled minus the clasps.

Activision finally putting more focus onto mobile gaming, specifically with the Kindle Fire HD

While a lot of the major labels in the gaming industry have already solidified their place, at least to some extent, in the mobile gaming scene, Activision Blizzard are pretty late to the game in terms of releases. However, with the formation of their new division, Activision Mobile, they are now ready to focus more on mobile gaming and, interestingly enough, when it comes to Android it will be with the Kindle Fire HD tablets.

Amazon’s new 7″ Kindle Fire HD beginis shipping out today

Last week Amazon unveiled a whole new line-up of tablets that are the second generation of the Kindle Fire and along with their announcement, Amazon said that two of the tablets would begin shipping out today. The new Kindle Fire HD line was actually fairly big, coming with a variety of models depending on what you wanted, whether it is a smaller 7″ tablet, a bigger 8.9″ WiFi version or even an 4G/LTE edition of the 8.9″ tablet. Well for those of you who pre-ordered the 7″ variety of the Kindle Fire HD, those units begin shipping out today.

Tecmo Bowl inspired Football Heroes up on Kickstarter, offers some unique rewards as well

A new Kickstarter campaign has recently gone live as of a couple of days ago for a new football game which was inspired by some classic titles like Tecmo Bowl. Being developed by Run Games LLC, Football Heroes is a hybrid football / beat ’em up / RPG title that will be making its way to Android devices when it launches. The Kickstarter campaign also offers some rather unique rewards for helping with the funding for the game.
