OUYA is nearing its official launch date, at least for backers of the rather successful Kickstarter campaign it had, with units slated to ship out on March 28th, 2013 to those who backed the appropriate level to receive an early unit. It appears that plenty of emulators are being worked on for the Android-powered console, most of which are Nintendo-based emulators.

Seantron, who developed the hamster destruction filled game Hamsteria and the recently released Tweets of the Dead game, has just released a preview video of his next game called KidElectro. This particular game is actually a pretty interesting looking 3D flying arcade type of title that will be coming to OUYA and Android when it is finished.
Back in January of this year we talked about how the popular Xbox Live indie platformer Fez would be coming to a variety of additional platforms. Unfortunately at that time there wasn’t any solid confirmation as to which platforms Fez would be arriving on. Now we have a much better idea after Phil Fish went and held an IAmA on Reddit yesterday.
For those of you who backed the Kickstarter campaign for the upcoming Android-powered gaming console OUYA, the company is planning to host a party in San Francisco this upcoming March 28th, 2013 in order to say thank you as well as to celebrate the launch of the units for those of you who backed their Kickstarter.
Two games we have previously reported on that had gone to Kickstarter have successfully been funded. Heroes of Steel RPG by the Trese Brothers and Delver’s Drop by Pixelscopic have both reached their funding goals and both games will be developed and arrive on Android when they are done. Delver’s Drop will also be heading to the Android-powered console OUYA as well when it is released.
For those of you who backed the OUYA Android powered game console’s Kickstarter campaign and purchased a unit through Kickstarter, your units are going to be landing on your door step soon as units are slated to begin shipping on March 28th, 2013.
Delver’s Drop is a physics-based Action-RPG that is currently up on Kickstarter looking for funding. Developed by Pixelscopic, this interesting little game has just had OUYA and Android support announced for it for when the game is finished and launched out into the general public for consumption.
Nexon has announced that they have thrown some cash at Robotoki in the form of a ‘strategic investment’. For those of you who have been following us for awhile now, you might remember us talking about the former Creative Strategist of the Call of Duty Robert Bowling’s new game development studio and their upcoming game for Android and OUYA called Human Element.
Some of you may remember a rather popular 4-player arcade game called Gauntlet which eventually made it to a few consoles as well. OrangePixel has been showing off some footage of a prototype game they are working on that is in the style of Gauntlet but with their own added flare to it. Currently the game is unnamed and is simply being called Untitled Dungeon Crawler.
Last week the finalists were selected for Kill Screen’s CREATE game competition for the upcoming Android-powered console OUYA. The finalists were all pretty strong in all the categories including the one for the grand prize. Now the winners have been selected for each category and here are the results.
