Thanks to a new update from Exozet, their version of the popular strategy board game Carcassonne on Android (and other platforms) now has the ability to play against other people on other platforms with the addition of cross-platform multiplayer. This means that even if your friends own an Windows phone for some reason, you can now play with them.

PocketMine-MP is pretty much the go to software if you want to run your own Minecraft: Pocket Edition server but don’t want the limited population that the Mojang official servers offer for a fee. With this software, you are technically only limited to the hardware your server is running.

Mojang’s TCG title Scrolls has been put on sale in preparation for its official release on all platforms and this includes Android tablets. For those of you not familiar with this game, Scrolls is Mojang’s second full official game that they released in a working beta format since last year but was originally conceived back in 2011. Since then it has been in beta status for quite some time for PC gamers.

If you are not familiar with the series (then you obviously have never met my brother..) it is a hack and slash style RPG based on the novels of Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The mobile adaption takes the role playing game- something difficult to perfect on a mobile device, and turns it into a MOBA- a more sympathetic genre for tablets and phones.
So there are times where games look really promising, but once you give them enough time, you see how they don’t come even close to you expectations. This is one of those times. When I first saw the game and trailer, I actually thought this looks pretty awesome, but as soon as I finished the abilitease (no typo here) tutorial, I immediately got the idea.
The Warhammer 40K franchise is no stranger to gamers for many platforms and formats, and Games Workshop has already allowed a couple of differently styled games to be developed for Android that are set within the Warhammer 40K universe. With that being said, there’s another one on the way.
Cyanide Studio has been working on bringing the bloody football game Blood Bowl to mobile and it appears the wait for its release is almost over. Inspired by Games Workshop’s Warhammer franchise, Blood Bowl features plenty of fantasy-based races to build your team with before heading out onto the field to essentially harm everything in your way to score points.
Chess is one of the more popular strategy games that have stood the test of time. It is an amusing sight to see two individuals huddled over a board as the chess pieces are slowly pulled off, one at a time, and set aside as a testament to each individual’s skill and prowess. Pure Chess by developer VooFoo Studios and publisher Ripstone have made it possible to make it even easier to take your game of chess with you wherever you go and you don’t have to worry about losing any of the pieces.
The Android rendition of Injustice: Gods Among US received a large (in scale) update adding online multiplayer among other enhancements. The addition of multiplayer on its own makes this game a lot better in some ways, giving it much more replay value.
