A rather crazy looking match-3 puzzle game called Surge is slated to head to the Playstation Mobile store on December 19th, 2012. Developed by Futurlab, Surge is a match-3 puzzle game with a sort of retro flare to it in regards to the glowy visuals. It also isn’t your typical match-3 game where you just move pieces on the playing field until three or more of the same kind are matched up adjacent to each other.
Up until now the SDK for developers to use when developing their games for the new Playstation Mobile platform has been in beta and basically free. Now Sony has given the SDK the green light and instead of charging an arm and a leg for the SDK, developers are only required to pay an annual fee of $99. This allows developers to publish as many games as they like to the Playstation Mobile platform, both for Android devices and the PS Vita.

Well if you’re a fan of chiptunes then you are in for a treat as the Aqua Kitty soundtrack is now on sale and available for download. A new game is heading to Playstation Mobile from Happion Laboratories called Sixty Second Shooter Deluxe. This little gem of a game has actually received quite a bit of praise from the gaming industry already with its original version. Featuring a mix of retro and 3D graphics, Sixty Second Shooter Deluxe is a very fast-paced arcade game where you are given one minute to cause as much destruction as possible.
The much anticipated re-branded and expanded Playstation Suite, now known as Playstation Mobile, will be going live today for those of you in the Eastern time zone as of the time of writing this. The rest of us on the west will be waiting a few hours but regardless, Playstation Mobile will be going live along with all of its features.
One of the more recent and big announcements coming from the Sony camp is the re-branding of the Playstation store and suite which is now called Playstation Mobile as one whole entity. For those of you who already have access to it, which I believe is in select locations in Europe although I could be wrong, the rest of the world will finally be joining you on October 3rd, 2012. This is when Sony will be rolling out the worldwide launch of Playstation Mobile for Playstation Certified Android devices and the PS Vita.
Tuna Mobile is responsible for the Eufloria strategy game on iOS that has gotten quite the following since its release. Now the developers are planning to release the next installment in the series, called Eufloria Adventures, and instead of releasing it on iOS, it will be skipping that platform and arriving on Android instead through Playstation Mobile.
There has been a lot of talk lately of lay-offs in the gaming industry ever since the whole OnLive incident, from Popcap Games laying off staff to EA possibly being up for sale. In a bit of an interesting move, while Sony is really pushing their mobile gaming presence with Playstation Mobile, they have decided to lay off 1,000 staff while moving their headquarters to Tokyo.
